If you require credit cards for trials of your SaaS app, you can cut down dramatically on chargebacks by sending out an email a few days before the first charge, reminding your customer that they’re going to be charged soon.. Some of your potential customers will stop using your product during the trial, but forget to cancel it. Charging those customers seemingly out of the blue will annoy and potentially frustrate them and in my experience, some of them will immediately do a chargeback. You can stop these chargebacks cold by letting customers know before you charge them, so that they can decide whether or not they want to keep their account or cancel it. It’s the right thing to do! It’s also a good time to ask them if they’re having any issues.
